BOOK REVIEW: 21 SHORT STORIES ON HOW MONEY WORKS

Hustle in the Nigerian streets

21 Short Stories on how money works by Ope from Cowrywise is an amazing book that one should recommend!

I read this in the 3rd week of the year and it felt like it should be read or the audio should be played once a week.

This is not just any financial book, in this book, you understand what it is to accumulate wealth in Nigeria.

It comes down to home!

One of the topics I love how it dealt with it was “The black tax”. Something that nobody appears to be able to avoid.

Especially as I’ve always seen the black tax as something that can sink your ship if not properly managed!

The author talked about you creating a budget for BLACK TAX. You can’t run away from it!

The book also stressed about not just saving, but having emergency funds.

Betting!

Another sweet thing about this is, every chapter, every single chapter has a Nigerian real life story embedded in it. So you could actually relate to it extremely well.

That was why the author had to add betting, cos he knows how deep and fast the betting culture is eating people in Nigeria.

I had to laugh when he mentioned the story of someone who even had a budget for “betting”. According to the person once the budget finishes, it’s over.

As a matter of fact, the author did not hide his spite for betting. In the book, he said, there has never been a time when Wealth was created from betting.

That was game over! For me, I had quite betting since 2016 and never looked back.
